What is pH, and how does it affect me?

pH is the unit that indicates the hydrogen density of water; since our body is 70% water it is important to know the pH level.

It’s all about balance.  The universe operates by keeping everything in balance.  The oceans, rivers, forests, everything needs to be in balance to support life. And the universe within your body is no exception.  The pH of our internal fluids affects every cell in our body.  Constant excess of acidity corrodes the body’s tissues.  When left unchanged, it can affect all cellular behavior and operations, from the beat of your heart to the neural firing of your brain.

Balancing your pH is widely considered to be the single most important thing you can do for your health.  Just as fish cannot live in unbalanced water, our blood cells cannot thrive in an unbalanced environment.

Proper pH                                    Improper ph

fish stitch The human body, except for the stomach, maintains a slightly alkaline pH.  If this is altered and acids are constantly produced, various health problems arise.  Most of us have an acidic body due to acid forming food, negative emotions, pollutants in the air and a stressful lifestyle.  Too much acid hinders absorption of nutrients, slows down the body’s natural healing capacity, and stimulates abnormal cells to grow.  Organic wheatgrass, hailed as “King of The Alkaline Foods”, can neutralize acids better than other vegetables.

Our dietary habits appear to be the major influencing factor for maintaining appropriate pH levels throughout the body.  Our western diet consists of 70% acidic foods which if we were to change that to 70% alkaline foods; our body would function as designed to heal itself.

All organic wheatgrass powders are not the same. Best Organic Wheatgrass, because it combines the roots with the leaves, provides for a milder taste and higher nutritional value. A powerhouse of health giving nutrients for pH balance and overall good health!

What wheatgrass powder can do for you!

Wheatgrass Powder should not be confused with wheatgrass “juice” powder
Best Organic Wheatgrasspowder” is aeroponically grown, cold-drying the whole plant (leaves and the roots) and then milling it into a fine powder.  The roots  (missing in most wheatgrass powders) are important for higher nutritional value.  The roots also contain SOD and P4D1, also noted in this article.
Wheatgrass ” juice powder” is made by first juicing the wheatgrass leaves and removing all of the cellulose (helps maintain health of the intestines) so a juice concentrate (a heat process which destroys the enzymes) is left, then it is dried into a powder.

Wheatgrass powder is rich in protein and includes all 8 of the essential amino acids, as well as 13 of the remaining 16 non essential amino acids.  Besides containing 13 vitamins, 10 minerals, 100 enzymes and an excellent source of chlorophyll, wheatgrass has two other special components which make it particularly valuable:

Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) – The aging process has been directly linked to decreasing amounts of SOD in our system.  Increased amounts of SOD cause our body to repair itself quicker.  Additionally SOD acts as an anti-inflammatory and cancer fighting enzyme.

P4D1 EnzymeP4D1 has been found to do two things in the human body.  It is the first known substance to actually stimulate repair of DNA molecules.  It is possible that diseased cells can be repaired with P4D1 so that when they reproduce they will actually produce good cells.  P4D1 has also been shown in laboratory tests to eat the protein sheath off a cancer cell so that the white blood cells can attack and destroy them.

Best Organic Wheatgrass powder, along with the previously noted elements, is a powerful detoxifier of the liver, blood, and gastrointestinal tract while neutralizing toxins.  The enzymes and amino acids found in wheatgrass can help protect the body from free radicals and carcinogens.  Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body’s enzyme systems by enriching the blood and increasing red blood cell count.  It may also aid reducing blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.  Recent studies suggest that wheatgrass has a powerful ability to help fight tumors without the usual toxicity of drugs.
